Program ideas

Here are some program ideas presented in the interest of brainstorming:

Chapter/member communication via web/e-mail/newletter/on-line collaboration, by Joy Davis at the CSI. We have talked about this, and she is interested in presenting.

How about some collaboration with the local NAWIC Chapter/Region?

Aflac, the insurance company has expressed interest in presenting.

"Death by Powerpoint" or how to be effective with presentations, by yours truly.

From CDT to membership. Recruiting new members from recent CDT candidates.

Danny Forster of "Build it Bigger" on the Discovery Channel. A graduate of Harvard Design School, he bills himself as a "stand-up architect". He did the Keynote presentation at the CSI Show 2008 and spoke about sports architecture and the re-building of Greensburg, KS.

Ed Mazria of the 2030 Challenge.

Timothy Ferris, author of "The 4-hour Workweek."

How about a "Chapter Challenge" competition between Chapters (or states)? Something fun, but something creative.

Where are we with NCR '09 Planning?

Bob Dye-
Can you summarize all events and venues we have confirmed for NCR '09, and what events and venues still need to be decided upon? I would like for us to review this at our meeting next Thursday so that we can tentatively assign tasks to committee members.

Thanks,
Brandon

NCR '09 Promotional Shirts

Bob-
Did I hear that you already have a shirt promoting NCR '09 in Kansas City? If so, are they available to everyone? Please post information for how to obtain.

Thanks,
Brandon

Save the Date?

We have proposals back from 3 different hotels. One in the Power & Light District and two on the Plaza.

All three are available July 31 to August 2, 2009.

Is it to early to send out "Save the Date" postcards?

Entertainment

Here's a fun entertainer: www.devinhenderson.com.

I've seen him a couple of times and he's good!
